The JoomlaDay™ Algeria was held together with the Algeria 2.0 event on 16th and 17th of September in Cyberparc of Sidi Abdellah in Algiers.
We had the pleasure to participate in this event already for the second time.
On two days, interested visitors could inform themselves about Joomla!, SobiPro and Seblod.

Karim Embarek, the main organizer of the event, opened the JoomlaDay by presenting the program of the first day.
This event had topics for everyone. For beginners and newbies, Wilfried N'Guessan explained Joomla!, from where the name is and for what Joomla! can be used.
Radek showed on an expert level how to customize Joomla! with a plugin by reference to our new site.
In his SobiPro session, Radek presented SobiPro and outlined all content types that can be achieved by SobiPro. He also debuted the new standard template, which tremendously simplifies the utilisation of the template and its configuration.

Thanks to the "SobiPro VGA adapter", Mehdi Baba Ali happily talked in his session about Seblod.
Together with Zahir Saad Bouzid and Sadki Faycal, Radek participated in a French discussion about their experiences with the different CMS's and especially with Joomla! The discussion was moderated by Wilfried N'Guessan.
All participants volunteered after a speaker cancelled at short notice.

At the second day, the workshops were held. Radek and I carried out an open workshop about SobiPro, which resulted in a discussion why Joomla! is the better CMS. Afterwards, Mehdi Baba Ali held his Seblod workshop.
During the whole event several contests were held. We had the chance to assist some of the contestants of the Joomchrono contest, a contest to build a website with Joomla! within 24 hours.
At the end of the JoomlaDay, Karim Embarek signed the famous Joomla! flag. The event ended with a small rock concert.
Just as the last year, we felt the great hospitality of the people in Algeria during our stay.
Thank you!
