Resolved Update to 1.6.1 led to complete failure of component?

Major failure: Call to undefined method Sobi\Framework::SetErrorTranslator()

I ran my usual updates and Sobi is now completely broken.
running Joomla 3.9.23
was running Sobipro 1.5.3 and updated to 1.6.1
Extension updates reports that SobiPro has 1.6.1 installed and that 1.6.1 is available. Running update throws the error above and the entire component does not operate at all. :(
Help anyone?

You missed to install SobiPro 1.5.3.1 before 1.6.1.

Same here, I reinstall the last 1.5.x version and then 1.6 and it's okay. But it's a very weird update system you have there. You must block the auto update if you know it's not working ;)
